Government Shutdown - Day 16

And I still don't care.   Hasn't affected me at all.   Do we actually need a federal government?   Other than the military, what is it that the states couldn't do?   Or, more importantly, what is it that they do that simply doesn't need to be done or is entirely counter-productive?
