"It profits me but little that a vigilant authority always protects the tranquillity of my pleasures and constantly averts all dangers from my path, without my care or concern, if this same authority is the absolute master of my liberty and my life."

Duke "Midnight Madness" at Ft. Bragg

College basketball teams' first practices are typically fan-friendly, "midnight madness" extravaganzas on campus to get the faithful (and alumni heavy hitters) juiced up for the season.  Coach K and Duke did something different this year, travelling to Fort Bragg to practice before members of the American Army.   (Coach K himself is a graduate of West Point.)   What a great idea!

“They do so many great things that we can’t compare to,” power forward Ryan Kelly said. “It really makes you understand that basketball is a game. We do it pretty much for a living, but these guys are doing something much more important than we are. I love what I do, but I appreciate what they do more.”
