Birthday Today - Mel Torme

The great Mel Torme was born today in 1925.   Torme was a funny-looking little guy who had an enormous gift as one of the great jazz singers of the last century.   Here he is singing a nice little song called "April Showers" during his younger days.   Hard to imagine anyone ever doing it better:
