Birthdays Today

Heavy and light on today's birthdays.   First, the heavy:  Aleksandr Sozhenitsyn was born today in 1918.   The author of the Gulag Archipelago, which chronicled the Soviet Union's system of work camps (which were truly death camps), Solzhenitsyn did as much as anyone to prove to the world that communism was an evil, and the Soviet Union was truly an "Evil Empire."  



Now, the light:  Teri Garr, the comic actress, was born today in 1946.   Her best role, of course, was in Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein.   Here is a great scene from a great movie:
